Your Barcelona Guide is an independent directory of officially licensed private tour guides in Barcelona. We list over 1,600 guides who hold the official tourist-guide accreditation from the Generalitat de Catalunya — the regional government of Catalonia — and we make it easy to find one who speaks your language and specialises in what you want to see.
What we do
We are a directory, not an agency. Every profile lists a guide's name, official registration number, spoken languages and areas of focus, so you can compare guides and contact the one you choose directly. There is no booking platform in between, no commission, and no agency mark-up — you arrange the tour and the price with the guide.
The directory currently covers 31 languages, from the most widely spoken (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish) to less common ones such as Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Greek, Polish and Russian. You can browse every guide on the home page, or filter to a single language.
What "licensed" means here
In Catalonia, leading a paid tour for groups inside major monuments — the Sagrada Família, Park Güell, the Palau de la Música and others — legally requires an official guide accreditation. That accreditation certifies real training in Barcelona's history, art and architecture, and each accredited guide is issued a registration number. Every guide in this directory holds that licence, and we show the registration number on their profile so you can verify it. Why we built it
Barcelona's most rewarding experiences come with someone who can explain what you're looking at — and visitors often struggle to tell an official, accountable guide apart from an unlicensed one. We built this directory to put licensed, registered guides in one place, in plain sight, reachable directly, so the choice is transparent.
Editorial standards
The directory's editorial content — guide descriptions, language pages, collections and travel articles — is maintained by Mike Acler. We aim to keep listings accurate and current; if you spot an error in a profile or a registration number, or you are a guide who would like a listing corrected or removed, please contact us and we will update it.
