Your Guide To: Nova Icària Beach
Laid back and near the city. Great for families and foodies.
Nova Icària Beach is located on Passeig Marítim de la Nova Icària, not far from Port Olímpic. It is the second-closest beach to the city centre (after Barceloneta Beach).
While busy during the summer season, it’s always a very relaxed beach. For this reason, Nova Icària is popular with families.
If you like great food and relaxed dining, you’ll be spoilt for choice with the excellent restaurants and bars that provide a backdrop for Nova Icària Beach.
Volleyball and table tennis facilities are readily available on the beach. If you want to get involved with water sports, you can book windsurfing and canoeing classes in advance at nearby Centre Municipal de Vela (CMV).
Nova Icària Beach is very well-equipped to accommodate visitors with reduced mobility. Facilities here include amphibian wheelchairs, wooden walkways and specially-adapted changing rooms. There is a team of volunteers on-hand at peak times to assist with all of these amenities, should you wish.
